Jared Says for April 2000

This month involved recouping from the Egyptian vacation I wrote about last month, going on another one and becoming a grandfather for the first time!

Vacation

My brother and I were joined by a friend of his as we made our annual baseball spring training trek to Florida. We visited four locations: Baseball City (K.C.), Clearwater(Phillies), Ft. Meyers (Sox/Twins) and Lakeland (Tigers). In the past we just went to the box office prior to the games and were able to obtain good seats. Today, with the increased popularity of these games, we have to get tickets in advance. If you plan to make any of the spring training games, check out www.squeezebunt.com in January each year to get a complete schedule for the upcoming spring.

My favorite places on the west coast of Florida are Dunedin/Clearwater, Sarasota and Ft. Meyers. They all have the great combination of baseball teams and a good beach/town to visit. We also discovered an excellent BBQ place in Lakeland! It was run by Leon and we'll have more about him, his BBQ and baseball pictures next month when I get photos from my brother's friend.

Grandaughter

Arriving home I discovered the birth of my first grandchild had taken place! Phoebe Victoria arrived for my son and his wife several weeks early on the 21st of March. She was born in CA where my all my children live. Since I live on the east coast, I will not get to see her as much as I would like.

Selling Live - Flea Market

Finally if you are planning to go to Brimfield, MA. for the May show I will be at the J&J field ,12-13 May ,slot J-9. Stop by and say hello.

Have a good month.
